WOOLLETS (wool pellets) are the perfect choice for gardeners inside and outside – ranging from vegetables to decorative pot plants.
The WOOLLETS are 100% biodegradable, made out of our flocks wool. It stems from our wool that does not make achieve our highest standards for knitting wool — for instance by containing too much vegetable matter (VM) in it.
WOOL PELLETS = WOOL plus VM
WOOLLETS — A NATURAL FERTILIZER
WOOLLETS will swell in size and are able to
-) air the soil and improve soil structure — small roots can grow more easily.
-) absorb moisture — less watering is required. During a dry spell, they give the absorbed water back to the soil and roots when needed.
-) fertilize — give nutrition back into the soil for the plants as they will slowly biodegrade. They act as a completely natural fertilizer.
Roughly mix half a cup in approx. four liters of soil. You can use it as a mulch/weed barrier at bottom of pot directly or base of plant.
pro tip: apply the WOOLLETS depending on the root system of a plant — e.g. deep in the soil for deep rooted vegetables and closer to the surface for less deeply rooted plants.
Two sizes are available.
500g or
1kg (has about 3.3 liters in volume)
1.5kg max. in each order due to postage – if more required please put two separate orders in.
The package is biodegradable too made with renewable wood pulp starch. Store in a cool, dry place and seal bag again after use – to keep moisture out. They should be kept away from babies, kids and all pets. Do not eat, swallow or inhale. Use gloves when handling and wash hands after use. For gardening ONLY.

My garden consists of a few containers of various sizes. I bought Woollets at Dornoch Fibre Fest in 2023, and added them to my containers that Spring. They are easy to work with, and a little goes a long way. Unfortunately I became ill during the growing season, and could not manage to feed and water my plants for a couple of months. June was very hot and dry. I worried my containers would dry out, my flowers would wither, and my vegetables would fail. I credit Woollets with keeping my plants growing when I could not be there for them. Woollets really do hold on to moisture, and they slowly release nutrients to the soil as they break down. Just what my plants needed! Despite the challenging growing conditions, my containers still produced potatoes, carrots and peas, and all my flowering plants survived, which really cheered me up!
I am using Woollets again in 2024, and recommend them to other gardeners, particularly if you’re worried about water retention in containers.
