The luxury gift box is understated and gorgeous. Opening the lid exposed the delights inside. I absolutely love the two beautiful skeins one dark cheviot (the natural colour variation in the dark is simply beautiful) and one white enclosed. Naturally curious and not knowing much about the Hill Cheviot breed I decided to have a look at the website and find out a bit more. The ethos of the business is modern and yet very traditional. Every part of the process sheep to yarn is done by hand, done in the old way, a way that takes time. Each skein can be traced back to the sheep it came from and which member of the team spun it. How wonderful is that?! The quality of the spinning in both skeins excellent, they are soft and there is a high level of twist. There is consistency in each, and between each skein, so should product a beautiful garment. I have always longed for a cardigan knitted from a black sheep so I have ordered more of the rare dark. I noticed some very rare silver in the products available, after enquiring it is spun by another of their spinners, less twist, so I’ll save that for another project!

This is a beautiful luxury gift box. It is amazing that this has been produced by hand, from the sheep all the way to the knitting needle. I have only just begun to knit this wonderfully designed hat. I am finding the wool lovely to knit with and very evenly spun. I look forward to displaying my hat in the (hopefully) very near future.
